Costco has been a valuable hub for shopping, and members can select from several membership levels that are most suitable to their needs.
However, what about the perks they offer with highest-ranking Executive Memberships–for example, do customers have different shopping hours? What I found was more about Executive memberships.
Costco doesn’t offer exclusive shopping hours for its executive members. This used to be a perk for members of that tier, but the practice seems to have been discontinued slowly from many stores since 2015.
Costco allows executive members to join early
Gold Star members were able to get to the store an hour before Executive Members. This allowed them to spend more time shopping with far fewer people.
Unfortunately, Costco memberships are no longer allowed in the stores at the opening times.
Some warehouses do try to open about 15 minutes before the posted time, especially if it is the day before a big holiday.
However, the rules vary between places so it is possible to keep doors closed beyond posted times.
What’s Costco’s Executive Membership?
Costco’s Executive Membership represents the most prestigious of Costco membership options.
An Executive Membership is available to members who wish to upgrade for an additional $60.
How do Costco Executive Members Benefit?
Customers who upgrade from the Standard Membership to the Executive membership get certain perks which other members do not.
These members get the following benefits, even though the additional shopping time is not available anymore:
Additional Savings on Services–Auto servicing, insurance, real estate and mortgage programs, roadside assistance, and assorted business services all benefit from special discounts for Executive Members.
Additional Discounts and Exclusive Offers
The 2% Cashback–This is applicable to all purchases except alcohol and tobacco. In order to make the $60 perk pay for your tier, you must spend $3,000 per annum. That is a reasonable amount for groceries or household supplies.
You can read our posts to learn more about Costco, Walmart, ethics, membership auto-renews, senior discounts, etc.
Costco used be able to grant Executive Members access one hour earlier than any other member, however this no longer holds true.
Does Costco Have Business Member Hours?
Costco Business Center locations are open earlier that Costco warehouses. Open Monday to Friday 7 am.m. to 6 pm. Saturday 7 am.m. to 4 pm.
