Does the Walmart College Plan have restrictions?
Walmart’s college program has its limitations and exclusions.
You can choose to study in areas such as business and technology or supply chain management.
Walmart does not offer funding for your poetry education.
Associates and bachelor’s degrees are also limited to employees who do not currently have either. The program cannot be used to obtain a second degree.
Non-eligible temporary associates have been temporarily hired to work holiday seasons.
Lastly, the program is not available to salaried employees. Field facility associates, who are salaried, are the exception to this rule. They are nevertheless eligible.
Are There Any Walmart College Program Scholarships?
Walmart doesn’t offer any scholarships because all costs are paid for by the company.
Walmart offered other scholarships programs that were not related to LBU and it has done so since years.
These scholarship programs were known as the Walmart Dependent and Walmart Associate scholarships.
You could apply the $13,000 scholarship towards any four-year program.
Walmart has ended its scholarship program because of expansion plans for the LBU Program.
Instead, the couple decided to focus on their education with Live Better U.
LBU is only available to current employees. This means that Walmart employee dependents cannot receive tuition aid from Walmart.
The plus side is that any Walmart Associate or Walmart Dependent employee would be eligible for the entire funding.
How Much Does The Walmart College Program Cost Walmart?
Walmart’s ambitious plan, which covers 100 percent tuition and books expenses, is going to cost Walmart a fair amount.
The mega-retailer actually announced that it would invest almost $1 billion to pay the expenses.
It is believed that the program can be used by more than one million U.S.-based employees.
It’s important to keep things in perspective, though.
Walmart, however, reported revenue surpassing $500 billion two years running.
