Aldi Coffee Pods (Price, Types, Quality, Roasts, Taste + More)

We all know that coffee is our only source of energy. With the invention of coffee pods, making a single cup of coffee has never been simpler or more easy. There are many choices for espresso or instant coffee thanks to Keurig’s innovative machines.

Aldi supermarkets sell food and drink essentials at steeply discounted rates. Aldi coffee pods can be found in their selection. Let’s look at the Aldi coffee pod collection.

  • Aldi coffee pods can be purchased under the Barissimo label. It also stocks other premium coffee products. You can choose from regular or decaf pods. They also come in flavored, cappuccino, and lighter roasts. A box of 12 pods costs $3.55.

Aldi carries what type of coffee pods

Aldi’s Everyday coffee cup line includes six options. Each coffee cup is labeled Barissimo. Note that Aldi calls their pods “cups”; I will use the two terms interchangeably.

These flavors are available at any hour of the day, year round:

Barissimo Coffee Cups, Donut Store or Breakfast Blend 12 ct.

Barissimo Caramel or French Vanilla Cappuccino Cups, 12 ct.

Barissimo Decaf Breakfast Blend, Donut Store Coffee Cups (12 ct.

Barissimo Fair Trade Colombian Coffee Cups, 12 ct.

Barissimo French- or Blonde Roast Coffee Cups (12 ct.

Barissimo French Vanilla or Hazelnut Coffee Cups, 12 ct.

Aldi often releases special flavors as part their Aldi Finds assortment. In winter, for example, you may see a Peppermint Mocha.

The company released 12 Valentine’s Day chocolates in a gift box.

Fall is always all about Pumpkin Spice, so you will likely find Aldi’s takes on that flavor in the autumnal months.

You can find out what is coming to your Aldi Find store by looking at their printed ad or their digital ads via their website.

    Are Aldi Coffee Pods Cheap?

Aldi’s pricing is a thing I love. Aldi’s coffee cups come packed in 12-packs. No matter what coffee flavor, they are always $3.55.

Walmart also sells its own coffee pods under their store brand Great Value. Their 12-packs sell for $3.92, and it must be said that their variety is much greater, with more like 15-20 different kinds.

Wegmans also has its own store-label coffee pods available for sale at just $3.99 per 12-count. Wegmans offers a wide variety of coffee pods. They have over 20 varieties, with multiple roasts and flavors, as well as an organic one (for $5.99).

Aldi coffee pods cost less than the competition, at most 37 cents.

However, other grocery stores very likely have many more options, as I didn’t even include the name brands like Starbucks ($8.49 for 10), Dunkin’ ($7.99 for 10) and McDonald’s ($7.49 for 10).

  • For a true demonstration of how inexpensive Aldi’s pods really are, think about your usual Starbucks coffee order: $4. $5? More? You get one cup of coffee. The pods come out to 30 cents each!

Aldi Coffee Pods – What Does It Taste Like?

The Aldi Coffee has been praised by critics all over the Internet. However, they have not mentioned any of their Everyday cups.

Although I do not want to make an unjust conclusion, it is likely that there are no great things about the flavor.

These items are most likely purchased for convenience and price. That’s fine! Sometimes all you want is a coffee fix to make it through the day.

But, I haven’t tried any of these seasonal coffee pods. The peppermint mocha was absolutely delicious, one of my favorite coffees I have ever tried.

Even though I am not a big fan of hot coffees, the strong peppermint flavor and rich chocolate flavour were wonderful and extremely luxurious.

  • (Interestingly, Aldi had their peppermint mocha cups sitting right next to Starbucks K-cups in the exact same flavor; the price difference between the two was about $3!)
  • Aldi also offers hot cocoa cup with milk or dark chocolate. Aldi also sold dark chocolate pods, which were okay but not spectacular.

  • Overall, I believe the Everyday pods can be considered to be serviceable. However, the seasonal Aldi Finds pods, which are flavored and delicious, is worth trying!
  • What Coffee Machines Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With?

Let’s have a look at the most popular pod-ready or instant coffee machines available and see if Aldi’s coffee cups work with them.

Aldi Coffee Pods (Price, Types, Quality, Roasts, Taste + More)

Aldi CoffeePods are compatible with Keurig Machines

Aldi coffee pods work with Keurig machines. These are the machines that Aldi’s pods are designed to fit into, and they work with all the models, including the new K-Duos and the Minis.

Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With Nespresso Machines?

Aldi’s Everyday coffee pods do not fit with Nespresso machines. Nespresso is used to make espresso at home. Nestle has Nespresso and their machines are very popular in Europe. However, it is not quite as widespread here.

Aside from fit issues, Aldi’s Everyday coffee pods have the wrong type of grounds in them to be used in a Nespresso machine.

Aldi released coffee capsules that fit into Nespresso machines even though the Everyday pods aren’t compatible. Aldi Finds could be purchased in various flavors for as low as $3.49 per carton.

Reddit comments noted that the were finding it difficult.

Nespresso machines in Europe are much more well-known than they are at home, so European Aldi stores now sell espresso pods. These espresso pods can be purchased under the Alcafe name.

Aldi CoffeePods Compatible with Dolce Gusto Machines

Aldi pods cannot be used with Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machines. They offer a new level of espresso at home, complete with touchscreens and the ability to make specialty drinks.

Aldi’s coffee beans are not able to be used in the creation of lattes and cappuccinos, despite being loaded with coffee grounds.

Aldi outlets abroad also sell Dolce Gusto cups. These are compatible with espresso from Europe. These products are called Alcafe Barista Moments.

Aldi Coffee Pods are Compatible with KFee Machines

Aldi coffee pods are not compatible with K-fee machines. Starbucks Verismo pods may work in conjunction with your K-fee machine if you are searching for compatible cups that can be purchased at a supermarket.

Are Aldi Coffee Pods Compatible With Tassimo Machines?

Aldi pods for coffee aren’t compatible with Tassimo machines. This is because the cups must have a unique barcode that tells the machine what water level, what time to brew, and the temperature.

As you can see, the only machines with which Aldi’s Everyday coffee cups are compatible are the Keurig coffee makers. Keurigs are one of the most commonly used single-cup machines across the U.S.

American consumers haven’t yet developed enough taste for espresso at home to justify all of the compatible pods.

Now that you know about Aldi’s coffee pods, you can also see our related articles on Aldi bread, Aldi almond milk, and Aldi chocolate.

  • Conclusion
  • Aldi coffee pods are available in 6 affordable Everyday flavors. Specialty flavors can be added seasonally to the Aldi Finds range. They are still affordable and serviceable, even though they’re not as popular as Aldi coffee pods.

Although Aldi coffee pods won’t fit in any other machines than the Keurig, it is still the most popular.
